**A Quantum Systems Valuation Hits $8B+ After Raising $1.2B To Scale eVTOL Drone Fleets**
Quantum Systems, a manufacturer of autonomous electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) drones, announced last week that it has raised $1.2 billion in a Series D funding round. The round values the company at more than $8 billion and is designed to accelerate its growth from a drone manufacturer into a broader software-defined defense ecosystem.
“We are building a next-generation neo-prime that has the potential to disrupt defense as we know it today,” said Florian Seibel, co-founder and co-CEO of Quantum Systems. The company, which is headquartered in Germany with operations in the U.S. and Australia, said it is profitable and currently deployed in operations worldwide.
**Proven Scale in the Field**
Unlike many drone startups, Quantum Systems emphasizes large-scale operational deployments rather than just prototype development. In 2025, the company reported that its systems executed over 19,000 missions in Ukraine. This real-world data is central to its pitch to investors and defense customers.
The company’s eVTOL platforms, such as the Trinity Pro featured in the image above, are designed for fixed-wing mapping and intelligence gathering. They are used for defense, security, humanitarian aid, and geospatial surveying. To support this, Quantum has expanded its production footprint to include Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, Romania, the U.K., and the Baltics.
**Building an Ecosystem, Not Just Drones**
The new capital will not solely be used to build more hardware. Quantum Systems plans to use the funds to expand production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience, and—critically—invest in software and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The company is transitioning from selling individual unmanned platforms to selling a coordinated ecosystem. This ecosystem is centered around the MOSAIC UXS software, which connects uncrewed systems and allows for human oversight and seamless integration between crewed and uncrewed assets.
“The future is unmanned. Defense will be defined by autonomous systems that can operate together across domains in real time,” Seibel stated.
**Strategic Partnerships**
The Series D round was led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent. The round also saw participation from existing investors Balderton and HV Capital, as well as new strategic backers like Fidelity Management & Research, Wellington Management, and Elephant Lake Ventures.
Concurrently, Airbus Defence and Space deepened its partnership with Quantum Systems. The collaboration aims to combine Airbus’s aerospace engineering and Quantum’s autonomous systems to accelerate the development of next-generation sovereign European defense capabilities.
“Modern combat is won through decision speed— the ability to capture, process and fuse massive data from air, ground and space faster than the adversary,” said Michael Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space. “This is why we are excited to deepen our cooperation with Quantum Systems.”
