MWC26 Shanghai, Asia’s premier connectivity event, is positioning the region’s cutting-edge technology sector at the forefront with the announcement of a live Formula E showcase, highlighting electric racing and real-time connectivity at this year’s gathering. The event has also unveiled new speakers for the 2026 main stage, including AgiBot‘s co-founder and CTO, Zhihui Peng.
Experience the excitement of Formula E racing firsthand – this year, MWC Shanghai will feature Formula E live experiences hosted by Circuit X in the Auto Smart Mobility Zone at SNIEC’s Hall N4. CircuitX, a GSMA Foundry initiative, brings together top technology partners to speed up mobile technology use in motorsport and enhance fan engagement.
Visitors will have the opportunity to test their skills on one of 10 Formula E simulators, with chances to win Formula E tickets and signed driver caps, plus get a close-up view of a Formula E car ahead of the 2026 Shanghai E-Prix. The Formula E Gen3 Evo car will be equipped with a 5G modem and antenna, streaming live onboard camera footage to demonstrate how 5G connectivity operates at the highest level of professional motorsport. Additionally, attendees will enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes content filmed at the 2026 Sanya E-Prix, which takes place just before MWC26 Shanghai.

Amid the global football excitement this summer, the Humanoid Robot Football Penalties Challenge unites teams worldwide for a three-day penalty-based robotics competition, showcasing the real-time AI and connectivity driving the next generation of humanoid robots. Beyond football, humanoid robots will also display their creativity through dance and musical instrument performances; entry submissions are due by 31 May 2026.
