WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) -The emergency notification system OnSolve CodeRED has experienced a cybersecurity attack impacting millions of customers, including several communities in western Massachusetts.
Enfield man charged in funeral home embezzlement scheme
CodeRED has alerted customers across the country of a system breach, reporting that an online cybercriminal group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Local communities that use CodeRED to send out city and town-wide alerts include Westfield, Pittsfield, Hinsdale, Ware, Gill, West Stockbridge, and Egremont.
According to CodeRED, the majority of municipalities are still able to send alerts to residents, but users are urged to immediately change their passwords. Law enforcement is currently investigating this incident.
